Metallized ceramic parts for ceramic-to-metal sealing.
Metallized ceramics have a thin metal film (molybdenum, manganese, tungsten or silver) coated on the ceramic surface and sintered in a metallization furnace, creating a strong ceramic-to-metal bond. HermiCore offers thick-film, thin-film and active metal processes for 95% – 99.7% alumina, aluminium nitride, beryllia, sapphire and diamond, with helium leak rates as low as ≤ 1×10⁻¹¹ Pa·m³/s.
| Metallization Process | Thick film / Thin film / Active metal |
|---|---|
| Ceramic Materials | 95% – 99.7% Al₂O₃, AlN, BeO, Sapphire, Diamond |
| Helium Leak Rate | ≤ 1×10⁻¹¹ Pa·m³/s |
| Typical Metal Layers | Mo-Mn / W / Ag |
| Applications | Ceramic-to-metal brazing, electron vacuum packaging |
Metallized ceramics receive a brazeable metal coating — thick-film Mo-Mn, thin-film or active-metal — so they can be hermetically joined to metal parts. Alumina, AlN, beryllia and sapphire substrates are processed in-house with SEM-verified quality.
